Stockout Date Calculator

Estimate when on-hand inventory will be exhausted, then compare confirmed inbound timing against that date.

What this tool estimates

It estimates how long current sellable on-hand stock may last at the average daily sales rate, then compares confirmed inbound timing with that on-hand runout point.

On-hand inventory รท average daily sales

Inputs to verify

Use current sellable stock, not inventory still in receiving or quality control. Use the same sales definition for the stock pool and channel being planned.

Important assumptions

The stockout date is your local browser date plus the floored days remaining, based on average daily sales. When inbound is expected on or before that on-hand runout point, additional coverage is estimated as inbound units divided by average daily sales. Day-based timing cannot guarantee same-day receiving or sales outcomes; this is an estimate, not a guarantee that all units will be available as expected.

When not to rely on the result alone

Actual runout can change with demand variation, cancellations, returns, allocation rules, inventory-record errors, partial receipts, and delayed arrivals.

Check a reorder threshold, plan quantity, or read the planning basics.

FAQ

Stockout timing questions

Does inbound inventory change the stockout date shown?

The main date remains an on-hand-only estimate. Inbound timing is displayed separately. Arrival around the estimated stockout boundary can still carry same-day receiving and sales risk.

What if daily sales change quickly?

Recalculate with a more representative sales rate. This simple estimate does not forecast future demand spikes.
